About the Editor

I’m Andrew L. Bond – author, editor, and worldbuilding consultant. I’ve written more than eight novels, published two (with two more releasing this year), and spent years working inside the drafting, revising, and publication process. That experience shapes how I edit: with respect for your creative voice, awareness of the emotional weight of revision, and a focus on clear communication at every stage.

My goal is not to reshape your writing into my style. My goal is to help your voice land with clarity, resonance, and intention.

Why I Edit Fiction

I edit because I love story craft – how sentences breathe, how pacing pulls readers through, how emotional beats strike at the right moment. I understand how hard it is to get a manuscript from “rough but promising” to “this works.” I also understand how vulnerable it feels to hand your work to someone else.

Editing isn’t just technical correction – it’s support, refinement, and partnership. I take that seriously.

My Editing Approach

Voice-first

Your voice is central. I refine and strengthen it, but never overwrite it.

Character and emotion aware

I work extensively in:

  • fantasy (light and heavy)
  • romance and romance-adjacent
  • science fiction and SF/F blends
  • speculative fiction
  • general fiction
  • YA
  • narrative nonfiction

Each genre has its own rhythms. I adapt to yours.

Clear, structured communication

I keep the process predictable:

  • upfront quotes
  • clear timelines
  • no ambiguity about what’s included
  • asynchronous messaging with no pressure to meet or call
Neurodivergent-friendly workflow

Many authors (ND or not) prefer a low-noise, low-pressure structure.

My process supports that with:

  • bullet-point options
  • simple explanations
  • no surprise deadlines
  • questions welcome at your own pace
Queer-friendly and inclusive

I welcome LGBTQ+ stories and authors. My approach supports diverse representation with care and respect.
